Message from The President

Happy New Year! I am looking forward to an exciting 2017 serving as your new Chapter President. We have a new board, with some familiar faces and some new (see below). I would like to welcome all of them, and thank them in advance for the time and effort they will be putting in this year to make SIM Houston a success.
 
We have an exciting year planned and

are offering members many ways to make the most of their memberships. So watch the calendar. The Program committee already has a number of quality speakers lined up for our monthly meetings; we are expanding our SIG offerings; and of course our socials and charitable events are great ways to meet with peers and have fun. The variety and quality of these programs provide our members tremendous networking opportunities to share best practices, lessons learned, and discuss items relative to the local Houston market.

 

With over 200 members, we are one of the largest SIM Chapters in the Nation, and our Outreach programs and charitable contributions focused on STEM education are second to none. In 2017, we plan on raising another $125,000 for these causes. In addition, we offer many ways for members to participate and give back to the community if they so choose. This includes being a Citizen Teacher; judging at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston; participating at the University of Houston CodeRed Hackathon; and many more.

 

We welcome your feedback and as always, appreciate your support. 2017 is shaping up to be a sensational year! I hope you enjoy it and are able to take advantage of everything SIM Houston has to offer.
