CIO Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held on April 25th, 2015

The weather made for some anxious moments but everyone's patience was rewarded with a wonderful day for golf. Our tournament this year returned to the Golf club of Houston, one of the premier golf courses in Texas and home of the Shell Houston Open!

 

A fun time was had by all and our continued goal for the tournament to have a fun venue to meet and socialize with other SIM members and attract new members was realized. All proceeds will help promote local STEM-based educational and nonprofit organizations. Geneys Works and AITP were two of the returning charitable organizations benefitting from the tournament.

The Tournament

 

  • 8:00 a.m. shotgun start with registration and breakfast buffet opening at 6:45 a.m.

  • Four man scramble

  • Green fees, golf cart and range balls 

  • Forecaddie and base gratuity 

  • Breakfast buffet, snacks and beverages, lunch buffet, open bar

  • Golf Club of Houston and other quality memorabilia

  • Awards and prizes include: Long Drive, Closest-to-the-Pin, Putting Contest, Hole-in-One and lots of Door Prizes and Give-a-ways

Proceeds benefited the following groups:

Genesys Works enables economically disadvantaged high school students to enter and thrive in the economic mainstream by providing them the knowledge and work experience required to succeed as professionals. Our innovative program of job and professional skills training and paid corporate internships in their senior year of high school helps to break the cycle of poverty for these students and sets them on the path to college, a professional career, and a more prosperous future.

 

AITP Houston's mission is to encourage and empower the next generation of leaders in technology we strive to bridge the gap between existing technology leaders and the next generation. AITP Houston strives to serve our members with education on emerging technologies and leadership, information on current business challenges and technology, forums for networking and collaboration, opportunities for students to network with top leaders in Information Technology.
